Overview

A half day sailing the Guanacaste coast

Sail the Pacific coast of Guanacaste on a spacious sailing catamaran from Flamingo Marina, with an open bar, lunch on board and a long stop in a quiet bay to snorkel, kayak, paddleboard and swim.

Choose the morning sail, when the water is usually calmest and clearest for snorkeling, or the afternoon sail that brings you back with the sunset. Either way you spend about four hours on the water.

From the marina the catamaran sails about five miles along the coast to a sheltered cove with small islands and a secluded beach. Keep an eye on the water on the way: dolphins and sea turtles are often seen, pelicans and flying fish too, and whales in season.

At anchor the crew sets out snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards and a big floating mat. Snorkel with the crew, paddle along the cove, jump off the boat or simply relax on the nets. Lunch is served on board with fresh fruit, and the open bar runs the whole trip. The catamaran has a large shaded deck and a bathroom on board, so it works well for families and groups of all ages.
