About this tour
The one place on the Río Celeste where you can actually get in the water.
Swimming is not allowed inside Tenorio Volcano National Park. The same sky-blue river flows out of the park and past a private property near Bijagua, where the owners open access to the riverbank for a small fee. That is where we take you.
A few steps lead down to the river. Once you are there, swim, float, take photos and enjoy the color of the water. Most guests spend 30 to 45 minutes at the river, but it is your private tour, so you decide.
This is not the national park’s waterfall trail, and it has nothing to do with the park’s hikes. It is a separate, private spot on the same river.
Río Celeste is an add-on to our Sloth Encounter tour in the Tenorio Rainforest. It adds about one hour to the day, and the private access fee is included in the price.
